| When electric current is passed through a gas, Hydrogen, Argon, Helium for example, the gas emits light. This emission is used in many types of electric lamps. Neon signs, fluorescent lamps, mercury-vapor and sodium-vapor lamps are common types of gas-discharge lamps. The colors of gas-discharge lamps varies widely depending on the mixture of the gases used. For sale below is a spectra discharge tube Circa 1920. These tubes were found in the storage area of college physics department. They were manufactured by the now defunct Tube Light Engineering of New York City. Click on the images for larger view. |

Here is a Synchronous Spark Source # 318. The unit is made by Systems Management Associates of California. This source will spark at 6, 10, 12, 15, 20, 30 60 Hz which is controlled by a knob on the front. Cosmetic and operational condition is excellent. You must be extremely careful when using this unit due to its high voltage nature. |
